CUE is gratified to announce that it has been awarded two major grants totaling $750,000. The dual grants from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Teagle Foundation will fund a project titled “An Instructional and Assessment Model for Equity-Minded Competence.”
The project’s first half, funded by the Gates Foundation, will create a suite of tools to develop equity-minded competence. Building on CUE’s existing tools and experience, the project will also tap higher education’s leading scholars. The second half of the project, funded by the Teagle Foundation, will focus on addressing challenges around developmental math, including on-site work with three Colorado Community Colleges. These grants represent strong validation from major education supporters for equity practices and for the important work that we do at CUE. CUE Director Dr. Estela Mara Bensimon will serve as the PI for the project.
