Dayna Meyer is a doctoral student at the University of Southern California’s Rossier School of Education. She is a research assistant working with Dr. Estela Bensimon at the Center for Urban Education. Her research interests include: college access and equity issues for underrepresented students, privatized for-profit education, college admissions, anthropology of education, and cultural constructions and power dynamics in higher education.
Previous to this, Dayna was an academic counselor and college consultant for a private education company. Dayna earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara in Cultural Anthropology and a Master’s degree from the University of Chicago in Humanities with an emphasis in Cultural Anthropology.
