Marlon Fernandez Castro

Research Assistant

Marlon Fernandez Castro is a research assistant working with Dr. Alicia Dowd for the Center for Urban Education. He is a master’s student in the postsecondary administration and student affairs program at the University of Southern California’s Rossier School of Education. His research interests lie in social issues of race and ethnicity, college access and equity issues for underrepresented students, Latino and Latina students, transformational resistance, achieving equitable student outcomes, diversity in higher education, and the role of practitioners in the success of student outcomes. Marlon earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Chicano/a Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
