Bridging Scholarship to Implementation of Organizational Change

CUE’s groundbreaking work in higher education cuts across the spectrum. From individual institutions like Whittier College, Loyola Marymount University - Los Angeles and Los Medanos College in California’s Bay Area to state systems of higher education like the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) and the University of Wisconsin to our strategic alliance with the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE), we are working with educational leaders to ensure that equity is embedded and championed in higher education policy reform.

One of our strategic goals includes our desire to expand the pool of equity-minded scholars around the country. Our partnership with the Association for the Study of Higher Education has proved valuable in this regard. In recent years, our popular Institutes for Equity and Critical Policy Analysis have spawned a number of national initiatives that embrace the concept of equity-mindedness.

To increase college opportunity and success for students of color, we recently teamed up with the National College Access Network (NCAN) on a pilot project designed to expand opportunities for students of color in two Boston high schools.

Since its inception, CUE has been at the forefront of issues confronting higher education practitioners, especially in the state of California. One of our current projects includes a partnership with the California Community Colleges and the Research & Planning Group to bring professional development opportunities to community college practitioners so that they can use data more effectively and incorporate measurable benchmarks into their college strategic and action work plans.
