Theoretical Foundations and a Research Agenda to Validate Measures of Intercultural Effort
Dowd, A. C., Sawatzky, M., & Korn, R. (2011). Theoretical foundations and a research agenda to validate measures of intercultural effort. The Review of Higher Education, 35(1).
Dr. Dowd, Ph.D. student Misty Sawatzky and Randi Korn, associate dean of academic resources at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, co-authored an article that appeared in the Fall 2011 issue of the Review of Higher Education. The authors called for campus surveys that measure intercultural effort on the part of students, faculty, staff and administrators. The goal is to identify and reduce racial bias that students may experience by including indicators of intercultural effort in assessments of institutional effectiveness.
